A Tale Of ‘Squatters’ In West Reading, Berks. UK.
Have you ever had the misfortune to live next door to these low-life?
They decide they want to physically ‘Break Into’ an empty property, (Yes, even if the owners are only on holiday), and they ‘claim’ it as their own. Doing ‘what’ they like, ‘when’ they like, making life a misery for all who happen to be within ear-shot of their soulless existence.
The frustrating thing about all of this, is that in the ‘UK’ at least, it is all done with our glorious Governments blessing.
Yes! you read that right. These ‘House Pirates’ actually have MORE rights than we ‘honest’ citizens who pay our taxes, rents, mortgages, council taxes etc. We all have to stand by and ‘watch’ our rights being abused in front of our very eyes. Our lives turned up-side down into a now ‘miserable’ existence simply because others who have no morals, self-respect, or respect for others, ‘decide’ that they want someone elses property.
And YES! This is the year 2007 we’re talking about here. Not some ‘Dickensian’ period. Though you wouldn’t get away with it if you wrote a novel about the lives and rights of ’squatters’. It would be deemed TOO far-fetched.
